Foil assist – Best way I have found to tow oneself in windless waves. Tow boogie might also be great in empty lineups. Getting more and more involved 🦾
V1 box from aliexpress had a poor o-ring, made a silicone joint that ended up leaking a few drops and fried the esc, no harm it just stopped working. Made a V2 box, from camdenboss (great quality and o-ring), same size, and splash proofed the esc, receiver and batteries for double safety. Now working smoothly so far 👌
Silk and enduro seem to work best with the assist as their airfoil is quite pitch stable (reflex), so the transitions powered-unpowered are effortless (less feet movement).
Currently looking at ways to ride smaller foils (~650-750 AR8) while keeping a small backpack, exciting times! 🤗
