Cracking winging in light wind (8-14kts) and powerful waves (chest high):
– The board is the most important, long, narrow, square tail. 5’2 by 20 inches, 70L for my 80kg.
– High aspect foil is the go in my opinion, as you need a huge range of speed and as much efficiency as possible. The H800 has been my go to lately, able to fly it in 8-10kts, and it holds in waves up to head high really well. 90cm of span is the limit, I think 80 or 85 is better for carving.
– Hand wing is best around 5m. The jump from 5 to 8m wing only brings a few knots on the low end, allowing to fly in 6kts instead of 8-10kts, but in the waves the span of the 8m is a lot to handle.
Really stoked on the H800 winging and H1000 proning, they are really solid in the waves, equal foot pressure at all speeds. Using them paired with the kd13R or 178 (from low to high drag : kd13R, kujira 178, H180, kd13, kujira 220). I have not figured out the H650 yet, interested if anyone has tips for this one, what tail and fuse length?
