Current podium for the ultimate surf wing combining pumping and turning.. Cabrinha H1000 takes the win! 🥇
Cab H1000 in a nutshell :
+ Turning feels like surfing, back footed turns, super smooth and reliable feel
+ Handles breaching and foam like a champ
+ Pumping and glide, while not as good as the kujira 1210/1095, is still not far off and more than enough to connect 10+ waves
+ Low end is very slow (~kujira 1210)
+ High end is super controllable, the wing does not lock in roll at max speed, no front foot pressure build up like on the kujiras, so high speed turns are very controllable
+ Connection mast-wing is very stiff
– Stock tail is a bit locked in roll and non adjustable, custom solution preferred (@foilparts adapter)
– Stock masts are not very rigid, custom solution preferred (custom racing mast adapted to cabrinha connection)
– Tradeoff of glide compared to kujiras
– Construction might be not so strong, time will tell (H1000 holding good, H800 is already fractured and in warranty process)
2nd place : 1095, love this wing for its glide and quick roll, just a bit overspanned and squirrely at top speed.
3rd place : 1210 if tiny surf, 980 for ultimate carving if no pumping, but they both build a lot of front foot pressure at max speed.
Keep in mind, this ranking is based on my daily conditions, most of the time powerful waves (>10sec period), from knee to shoulder high. In gutless waves, I think the kujiras have the upper hand because of their glide and low drag, and the front foot pressure buildup at low speeds is not a problem.
Congratulations @keahideaboitiz @cabrinhawings on the h-series 🏆 it’s rare to come across a wing that feels better than a kujira in the waves! And thanks again @misterbennets for leading the way in waves and finding what’s best in the market 🙌
