The takuma kujira foils : A revelation for me this year. Compared to the gong fluid range which was the best I knew, the glide is enormously improved and turning is much better, for a comparable surface area.

The kujira 1210 is the best pumping-surfing foil I have ever used.
The pumping is top notch, mainly thanks to its amazing glide, small taps are enough to get it going, one can even alternate 2 pumps-1 rest gliding. Once it gets going, the stall speed is very low, allowing to be pumped back up to speed quite easily, forgiving many mistakes in the surf. For reference, I can link 20-30 waves in a row with this wing, my records are on this one.
The turning is very decent, tight turns can be achieved especially with a small tail like the 178 mounted on a shorter fuselage. The wing tolerates breaching up to a third of its span, no problem. Its ability to recover from breaches is quite extraordinary. However, full wing breaches are very hard to recover, the wing tends to stick to the water a lot once fully stalled. A simpler wing design like the Gong fluid tends to regain lift much faster after a full breach and stall. This difference is especially noticeable when doing jumps on the wing.

The kujira 980 is the best carving foil I have ever used.
The pumping is decent but quite demanding, and needs to be kept high speed. For reference, I can link about 5 waves in a row with this wing.
The carving is amazing, the wing tracks really well, and allows tight turns, top to bottom style like a shortboard. It allows to be trusted by smoothing out turbulences, chops, bubbles, breaches. As long as you don’t fully breach the wing, it will not let you down.
Same as the 1210, it sticks a bit the water after a full stall, not the best wing to land jumps and re-engage in flight straight away.

About the shorter custom alu fuselage : Sand the fuse rather flat and drill a 5mm hole at 3cm distance from the other hole, then create a M6 thread. Add some shims to recreate the right tail angle, some water time testing might be required to get the angle right. Making the 1210 turn tighter and pumping out of the hole easier.
